Meet “Burger Girl”: She Wants You to Burn Her Vagina

February 16, 2011

Burger Girl's new single Kiss LamourWe don’t typically try to, I suppose, “question” musical ventures here at Frumpzilla. The art form is so subjective, you know — so deeply personal in nature for so many. Who is Frump, after all, to callously pass judgment on one’s passionate outpouring of acutely intimate creative expression?

That said, to be fair, I guess we may or may not have made some exceptions to this general rule in the past.

There was that “Miracles” song from Insane Clown Posse. Oh, and their follow-up single, “Juggalo Island.” Then there was DJ Felli Fells’ “I Wanna Get Drunk,” which was interesting. And the Crop Circle Song. And those cute little kids — not to mention Trevor Sayers — reminding us of how important it is to respect and obey authority.  So, yeah, I guess we’re not saintly, okay?

Anyway, notwithstanding the above confessions, it’s not necessarily our intent to disparage Benjamin Dukhan’s “Burger Girl” alter-ego here. Think of it more as a plea. A plea to, I guess, “understand” just what the hell he’s on about. Or even just on. Baby steps, you know…

Trevor Sayers brings us “New Dance In School”: The Reggae Version of “Respect and Obey Authority”

You know what, I should probably backtrack a bit here. This probably isn’t reggae, technically speaking. Probably wouldn’t be fair to call it dancehall either.

In fact, I actually have no idea how to classify it. So, for now, I’m just going to call it “Faith-Based, Reggae-Like, Dancehallish, Childrens’ Music.” Or, in other words, crap.

Now, I’m not sure if Trevor Sayers was simply trying to capitalize on the enormous success of X-tReMe Power’s “Respect and Obey Authority,” but it sure as hell seems like it, and that’s not cool.

That said, I must say Sayers’ use of the cat in this song was quite innovative, at least within this genre. Respect.

R-E-S-P-E-C-T, Respect and Obey Authority!

Don’t hate (yet) — as far as songs that brazenly call for you to avoid sticking it to the man go, X-tReMe Power’s “Respect and Obey Authority” is likely a classic.

Of course, given the extremely limited sample size meeting the aforesaid criteria, that’s probably akin to saying the Crop Circle Song is a sublime example of pseudo-paranormal-related mantra music from an unsigned artist, but that’s beside the point.

I’m just trying to determine what’s more disappointing here: The obtuseness of the message itself, or its performance.

I mean, maybe I’d be more inclined to keep it under 70 on I-95 tomorrow…if these kids could actually sing. Sing or at least break out some percussion beyond that of a Rock Band drum kit (and an unconnected one at that).

For the record, I don’t blame you, kids. As bad as that was for my ears, you’re still the true victims of all this.

Insane Clown Posse’s “Miracles” may be the most unintentionally hilarious music video I’ve ever seen…

As usual, I’m probably a bit late to the party with this one. After all, it was only so long ago that I first learned what the hell a “Juggalo” is. Nevertheless, how could I let this one go without even a passing Frump? Obviously, I couldn’t, but then I don’t think you’ll mind watching again if this isn’t the first time.

Now, as a disclaimer, I can’t say I’m the biggest Hip-Hop connoisseur in the world, so this may be off base — but is this video/song not one of the more ridiculous things you’ve ever seen/heard? I mean, I had to dig a bit just to make sure it wasn’t a joke (it isn’t).

The only thing left to decide at this point is which frumpin’ miracle has you the most perplexed. I’m torn between the pelican that tried to eat the cell phone on the San Francisco Bay (but then flew away) and, of course, magnets. How do those f*ck*in’ things work anyway?

Regardless, in case you were trying to keep track at home, I’ve compiled a list of all of ICP’s miracles after the jump…

Juggalo News

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m really not all that familiar with Insane Clown Posse and their music, although I guess I may be proud of that. I’ve also learned what a “juggalo” is just today, but then that probably only adds to my aforementioned point of pride.

Well, apparently juggalos now have a news channel tailored specifically to their kind and culture. Seriously, utterly fascinating. Enjoy, but please mind the rather harsh, esoteric language…

If you still need some help defining just what the hell a “juggalo” is, apparently this is a fairly good place to start, and thanks to dbj for educating me in the mysterious ways of the juggalo.
