Join Frumpzilla’s First Annual Bowl Pick ‘Em!

December 13, 2010

UPDATE FOR ANYONE THAT HAPPENS TO STUMBLE ACROSS THIS POST: We had to move the pick ’em to Yahoo! because Fox’s system was giving a lot of folks issue. You can enter the pool here, password is “yieldtofrump” . First game is Monday December 27th. Good luck!

  • Frumpzilla's 1st Annual Bowl Pick 'Em - Free to enter, and you could win 1,000's of dollars in prizesFirst off, it’s free — so you really have absolutely no excuse for not participating.
  • (B), despite being free to enter, you can actually win 1,000’s of dollars* in prizes. Seriously, there’s no catch. This is just Frump’s way of saying thanks to all our adoring, loyal fans out there — all 37 or so of you — and we just hope a good time will be had by all.
  • III, unlike our Frump Madness NCAA Tournament pool last year, you don’t even have to visit Frumpzilla to keep track of your entry. We’ve got a private group set up through FoxSports.com’s system to make things easier on all of us.

All you need to do is email us for the group password, and then you’re good to go. You could also just hit us up on Facebook or Twitter, whatever works.

First game in the pool is the Little Caesar’s Bowl (Toledo vs. FIU) on December 26th, so there’s plenty of time to research and make your entry as competitive as possible.

The possibly bad news is that you’ll be picking against the spread, as well as assigning bonus points to games based on your level of confidence in the outcome. That might be new to some.

The good news is that this all but guarantees we won’t have a tie, and also makes everyone’s entry eligible for Fox’s $100,000 Bowl Pick ‘Em contest. So you’ll have that going for you.

As for the prizes you can win from Frumpzilla, we’ll be giving a $100** Best Buy gift card to highest scoring entry; a $50** gift card to the runner-up; and then a $25** gift card to third place.  Oh, and did we mention it’s free to enter?  Hope to see you in the pool!

A Little Cuke in the Fiesta Bowl

Michael McDonald really cukes up just about everything he touces...

When I found out (from Ciaran) that I had missed the Cuke’s Fiesta Bowl rendition of the National Anthem, I was destroyed.  Devastated.  Cukes do not stay fresh forever, and these moments do not grow on trees (or in the ground).  Shockingly, I could not find video of the performance; I found something much, much bettah…

Frump for additional Cuke.
