I have been a huge fan of ‘Late Night w/ Jimmy Fallon’ since he go over his initial nerves. It was rough at the beginning, but since then it has been my favorite late night show of the bunch(right there w/ Craig Ferguson). There are consistently gems like the video above which just happens to be the most spot on Charlie Sheen impression I have ever seen(since he became relevant a couple weeks ago).

Conan O’Brien Lands on TBS in November

April 12, 2010

20 minutes ago, Conan O’Brien announced on Twitter that he will be doing his show on TBS at 11p.m. starting this November.  The announcement has since been picked up by nearly every media outlet, such as this.

The program will air Mondays through Thursdays at 11 p.m. Eastern, shifting TBS’ “Lopez Tonight,” starring George Lopez, to midnight.

It had been long rumored and thought O’Brien would end up on Fox and yet he finds himself on basic cable.  I do watch TBS quite a bit for their reruns of Seinfeld, The Office, and Family Guy, so I’ll gladly keep the channel there for another hour now.

I do like the fact Lopez is being pushed back.  My initial feeling when I heard the news was if you could pick one lead-in that would be worse than Jay Leno, it’d be George Lopez.  That guy sucks(you’re Mexican, we get it).  But with Lopez being pushed back, I still won’t have to watch it and Conan will keep all the Family Guy/Office viewers.

If you can’t wait til November to get your fill of Coco, feel free to try and catch him on tour or read his twitter updates on billboards across America!(pictures after the frump)

Conan stoops to Craigslist’s Casual Encounters?

Conando es sessy

We’ve been writing a lot about Conan O’Brien’s plight lately. In fact, I’m pretty sure Frumpzilla may have spearheaded the entire “I’m With Coco” movement, as well as being the first global media entity to bring Earth the brilliant Jay Leno = Brett Favre metaphor (seriously, we were on that latter one).

Well, despite Frump’s efforts, it looks like things have gotten even worse for our dear, dear Coco, as you can see from this LA Craigslist Casual Encounters ad. Read: Conan’s move to Fox may come sooner than expected.

Jay Leno = Brett Favre

Jay Leno is Brett Favre

As you’ve been able to tell, we’re staunch supporters of Conan O’Brien.  You’ve probably also noticed we like to straddle that fine line between sports and pop culture in our articles.  So it should come as no surprise that I came up with this comparison amid a conversation last night with Ciaran, a fellow frumpster.  It dawned on me that Jay Leno changing his mind about retiring from late night television closely mirrors Brett Favre deciding(multiple times) he wasn’t ready to retire from the NFL.

Brett leaned towards retiring, actually retired, then came back and in doing so altered the careers of Aaron Rogers of the Packers, Chad Pennington of the Jets, and the two headed monster of Tarvaris Jackson/Sage Rosenfels of the Vikings.  Jay Leno announced retirement, changed his mind and came back and is now in the process of altering the careers of Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Fallon, and the often forgotten about Carson Daly.  Continue reading after the FRUMP for more on my comparison as well as funny-man Patton Oswalt’s feelings toward Jay Leno after all this mess.
