I know all of you hyper-aware, plugged in Frumpsters know by now, but Myron Rolle, Florida State’s starting SS, was awarded the Rhodes Scholarship this past Saturday. Well done; you certainly have my respect and admiration. More praise after the jump.
Well, hell; I don’t know what else I can say. This dude won the f#cking Rhodes Scholarship. He’s the most celebrated student-athlete to do so since Bill Bradley. He was basically done with his undergraduate curriculum before his third year of football. Oh yea, he studied at Oxford this past summer. Pretty beasty. He was also a 5-star safety and the #1 recruit out of high school.
My guess is he will take the Tiki route. He’ll play 7 years in the NFL and then go to medical school. He will discover the cure for cancer, become insanely rich and run for President. Only the short stint in the NFL applies to Tiki, obviously. Yea, that about covers it, I think.
You’ve certainly given the Florida State community something to be proud of, Mr. Rolle. And Galloway, New Jersey, his hometown.
But so did she in her own way, I guess.

Vice-President?
And it’s a hell of a lot better than this.

Good question. I agree, we should definitely have more articles about such well rounded individuals, so to speak…

Nicely done Myron Rolle. The late 80’s must have been a great time for athletic smart kids to be born. We have the aforementioned Mr. Rolle and Rice won a bowl game.
