Neither team could find a go ahead goal in the 2nd half, and the two English sides ended regulation locked in a 1-1 draw. 30 minutes of extra time proved the same; No Golden Goal found the back of the net despite some great chances, and the stage was set for a classic, nail biter of a shootout.
