FINALLY

6'6", 225, sub 4.5 forty yard dash, laser, rocket arm; Terrelle Pryor is supposed to be the next big thing in college football. Tough to bet against those measurables really, but is it tough to bet against the hype?
There's enogh pressure on 18 year old kids as it is. I imagine being the "next Mike Vick" or "next Vince Young", or even, though in a different sense, the "next Ronald Curry" isn't easy either. Of course, Terrelle, notwithstanding all hype and expectations his level of talent generates on its own, didn't help matters much by waiting til Easter to sign his Letter of Intent, so I'm not saying I feel sorry for him.
Maybe that was part of the plan though. You have to question the motivations of today's top recruits now that recruiting coverage is such a huge business, at least relative to years past, but then, as noted, these are 18 year old kids. Can you blame them? I mean, I don't necessarily respect it, but I understand.
Now I'm obviously not pulling against Terrelle Pryor, but I won't be surprised if he goes the way of Rhett Bomar, Ryan Perriloux, Kyle Wright, Ronald Curry and other former top recruits at his position that simply never lived up to the hype. What will Pryor have to do to live to his expectations? I'm not sure, but he certainly hasn't made things any easier on himself.
