After seeing his bubble Wolverettes blow a twenty point lead to Wisconsin, at home, Michigan women's basketball coach Kevin Borseth pulls a bit of a Mike Gundy; obviously under the impression that other people actually care about women's college basketball, and apparently mistaking the press conference podium for one of the refs...
There's some great bits in this. I particularly liked the part about rebounds going out of style (we all know that's true), and Borseth's homage to Gundy was certainly appropriate. Given the setting, an otherwise obligatory "I'm a man!" statement may have rubbed some folks the wrong way here, but I'm more than satisfied with Borseth's imagery of women's basketball players donning shoulder pads for now.
The Wolverettes get Minnesota on the 2nd in what apparently is a must win game, but then I wouldn't know of course. Let's just hope Michigan can pull that one out, for Borseth's emotional and mental well being if nothing else. Otherwise we may have to move this article over to the Apocalypse section.
