Good decision, Ty.  Once you get the basics down, a world of possibility reveals itself. Check out the one minute mark, Frumpsters.  70/40?!?!?!?!?!  Apparently Ty has a difficult time with addition and percentages.  Probably not a good gambler.  Although, he is pretty proficient at DUI's.  To his credit, the triple digits can be quite discouraging.  Maybe a return to elementary school is in order.

The Heels lost two of the three core talents primarily responsible for their stellar 2007-2008 basketball season today.  Point guard Ty Lawson and sharp shooting Wayne "Pretty Boy" Ellington, both Sophomores, have declared for the NBA Draft, though neither will apparently sign with an agent.  This of course gives them the option to return for the Junior campaigns should they choose to do so at a later date.

Release...

Meanwhile, National Player of the Year Tyler Hansbrough has made it official that he'll be returning for his Senior season as a Tar Heel.  That's a bold move coming from a player whose draft stock has almost certainly plateaued, though I suppose it can't get much worse either.  Coming back also gives Tyler a legitimate shot at breaking J.J. Redick's ACC scoring records; potentially a great story there for next season.

In the wake Tyler's accolades and his refreshing decision to spend 4 entire seasons as an amateur athlete, Frumpzilla would like to honor Hansbrough with a brief tribute.  After the jump of course...

The more I watch athletic events, the more I have to bitch about.  This will be the first installment in a series called "Gripes."

Fitting that a kid who potentially grew up in a igloo would hit one of the most clutch shots in NCAA Tournament history.  I bet he actually used to walk miles, barefoot, in the snow to basketball practice too...

Well, we finally made it.  This one's for all the marbles.  Will Bill Self finally clip the choker he's been wearing for the past 8 years?  Will John Calipari provide the punchline for the whole "we get no respect" routine?  Will either one of them win their first NCAA Championship?  Will either of them wear a tie that coordinates with their team's colors?  We'll see...

Memphis looks unbeatable at the moment...  Kansas looked unbeatable last night...

That daggum tie!

Roy Williams unwittingly allowed Bill Self to tie "a special knot" for him last night

Found this poignant photo over at Brahsome, who apparently got it from The Sporting Blog, who apparently was provided it by Mister Irrelevant.  I'm not sure about all that, Frumpsters, you'll have to untangle that mysterious web of networking for yourselves, but, given the quality of those respective sites, it should be fun and informative.  Who knows, you may even find a new site to frequent/bookmark/ subscribe to.  My guess is you will.

Anyway, this pic and the Heels' surprisingly lopsided loss to Kansas last night inspired me to vent about something that's haunted me for years:  Roy Williams' wardrobe.  That tie in particular...

Yep, sadly Stephen Curry, his pal "The White Lobster", and the rest of the Davidson Wildcats didn't quite make this one.  Don't let that get you down though.  This Final Four is primed to be one of the best in recent memory.  CBS should be able to milk more melodrama out of this one than an entire season of "As the World Turns".  This year's "One Shining Moment" could be special...
