Probably (update: *Not?*) Why Mustafa Isn’t Practicing

Mustafa Greene - NC State

Considering I wasn’t in the room when the decision was made to hold Mustafa Greene out of practices recently, chalk this up to speculation. However, knowing Tom O’Brien and his disciplinary history, it’s not hard to connect the dots when you see the public record below.  […]

How the Butkus Award Lost Credibility

November 24, 2010

The Butkus Award released it’s list of finalists today. One glaring issue I see is the lack of Nate Irving. I know, I know, I’m an NC State fan and therefore am subjected to bias. However, the stats just don’t add up on this one? You’ll see below that Nate should be the second favorite to win and definitely in the top 5.

Tentative Predictions: Week 2

September 11, 2010

Frump's Magic EyeTentative Predictions.  They’re kind of like “Fearless” predictions, except we’d never advocate laying real money down — tisk, tisk: gambling is likely illegal in your great State, Frumpster — and we actually provide our readers with some ways to rationalize failure should these picks not come through.

College Football’s opening weekend saw Frump go a disappointing 3-3 ATS. We didn’t blog our picks beforehand — like we are this week — but we tweeted about it quite a bit, so don’t accuse us of making that stellar record up, okay?

Virginia Tech +1.5, Louisiana-Lafayette +29.5, and LSU -9.5 cost us, and keep us at .500 for the season, but this week we’ve got another 6 games that should push us into the green. If not, well, feel free to use one or more of the Cowardly Cop-Outs provided below.

So, if you need some rationale to make some picks yourself this weekend — or just want to make fun of someone else’s, even ours — make the jump for some angles on East Carolina -13, Georgia Tech -12.5, Rutgers -16.5, Georgia-South Carolina Under 46.5, Hawaii-Army Over 51.5, and N.C. State-Central Florida Over 51.5.

Frumpzilla lands exclusive interview with the one and only Lee Folwer…

Lee Folwer's sits down with Frumpzilla soon for an exclusive interview

***Update: For those that may be wondering, the Lee Folwer interview has been delayed.  Mr. Folwer is stalling on us, allegedly waiting on the check to clear.  We think he’s just a bit nervous about answering the tough questions.  Either way, the interview will definitely be up this week.  So stay tuned!***

And we’re hoping some of our readers would like to contribute. We can’t really go into what kind of strings had to be pulled to get this gig, but just know that, come Monday morning, the entire Frumpzilla staff is rolling out a full frontal assault; dusting every crevice, finely combing every former mustache hair, of the genius that is Lee Folwer.

Now, we’ve obviously got several questions lined up for Mr. Folwer, but we could always use some more. So, if you’ve got something you’d like to ask Lee, send us an email or hit us up on Twitter and/or Facebook.  We’ll do our best to make sure your voice is heard!

Wolfpack Spring Practice: Day 3 – Offensive Line

March 30, 2010

Day 1: Quarterback

Day 2: Offensive Backfield

Coach Tom O’Brien and Assistant Don Horton have long been renowned for their ability to develop and coach offensive lineman.  NFL rosters are littered with their former players and Wolfpack fans have seen a steady progression in the rebuilding of the NC STATE unit since their arrival.  This year’s version will be the deepest set of lineman enjoyed by TOB and Horton in terms of numbers and talent.  It will also be one of the youngest position groups put on the field (next to the defensive backs) this season.  Horton and TOB will have their work cut out for them as the Pack will be forced to replace three starters this season, while a forth will be recovering from a major knee injury.

Frump’s Lock of the Day: N.C. State +5 at UAB in the NIT

March 20, 2010

Sidney Lowe may have the Blazers by the cohonesTired of the Tourney yet? No, of course you’re not. Nevertheless, if you happened to just catch that fantastic finish between UNC and Mississippi State in the NIT Semis, you know there’s still some good basketball being played outside of the Big Dance. Best of all, there’s a good chance the other side of that game could leave us with an extremely tasty, classic Tobacco Road rivalry in the Quarter-Finals. That’s right, the only thing keeping us from a sweet North Carolina-North Carolina State match-up in the Little Dance is those god forsaken fire breathers from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

To top it all off, assuming your brackets are performing a bit below par, here’s a great opportunity to help pad your potential losses (assuming you’re doing this legally, of course). Make the jump to see why we think there’s enough of a lean towards the Wolfpack in this one to make it our lock of the day…
